Authentic Japanese Chasen handcrafted by Tango Tanimura - the 20th generation Master Craftsman of the most famous Chasen-making family in Japan! This is a top of the line 70-prong Takayama Chasen that is handcrafted for tea ceremonies. It is sculpted from white Hachiku bamboo that has been seasoned for around three years, designed to produce excellent Koicha (thick tea) or Usucha (thin tea) with an even and silky foam on top. Tango Tanimura's family has been honing their craft for over five centuries, and his Chasen are used and highly regarded by the Grand Masters of some of the main tea ceremony schools in Japan.
